St Mary's Pathfinders/Rangers Fundraiser

The St. Mary’s Pathfinders/Rangers are hosting a Food Bank Challenge at St. Mary’s Education Centre/Academy. The race is on to see which class can bring in the most individual food bank donations. The class with the most donations will win a PIZZA PARTY to be held on December 18^th. The rules are simple, bring in a food donation between December 7^th and 17^th. A donation box will be placed in each classroom. Members of the Pathfinders/Rangers will collect donations throughout the challenge and track progress on a chart in the main lobby.

The Hour of Code

All St. Mary’s Education Centre Academy students will be participating in “The Hour of Code” during the week of December 7^th. “The Hour of Code” is a one-hour introduction to computer science. It is designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. More than one hundred eighty countries are involved.

LIBRARY NEWS

Our November Bookfair was our most successful one so far. As a result of the great sales, we were able to obtain over $1300.00 in free books for our school library. A huge Thank You to all students, staff, parents, guardians and grandparents for your generous support.

I would also like to thank a great team of volunteers: Samantha Dort, Mikayla Rudolph, Kaylyn Mailman, Emma MacDonald, Emily Hendsbee, Hannah Pearo , Makayla Fleet and Melodie MacLellan, your help was very much appreciated. Thanks as well to the students for transporting the books to and from the library
